Just as we can finally anticipate the coming of fall here in New England, the Board of Directors and I are looking forward with anticipation to another terrific year for our New England CoreNet Global chapter.  We will once again rely on our excellent committee volunteers who work extremely hard to bring us quality programming as well as wonderful opportunities to network, learn and to give back to our community.  It is their dedication and commitment that makes this chapter such a dynamic and vibrant professional association.

This past year has been a busy and exciting year for CoreNet Global New England.  The chapter has:

  • Increased membership, especially among our young leaders

  • Improved and expanded our educational programs

  • Improved sponsor benefits and visibility and increased the number of  sponsors

  • Created more opportunities at the Board of Directors level to train and develop future Chapter leaders

  • Increased our community support through volunteerism by expanding our efforts to support South Shore Habitat for Humanity

  • Offered more than 50 programs, seminars, special events, and networking opportunities to meet a wide range of interests and showcase member accomplishments

This year, as in the past, our Awards program, to be held on November 6, 2008 at the Seaport Hotel will recognize leaders in our end user and service provider membership as well as spotlighting several projects that solve workspace issues in innovative ways.  Last year’s award winners were:

Real Estate Executives of the Year

Global Winner-Manufacturing:  David Streeter, EMC

Regional Winner-Corporate:  Donald DiPanfilo, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

Global Winner-Corporate:  Deborah Carrow, Liberty Mutual

Broker/Real Estate Advisor of the Year:  Chris Crooks, Cresa Partners

Contractor of the Year:  Sue Klawans, Gilbane

Designer/Engineer of the Year:  Elizabeth Meek, Sasaki

Legal Professional of the Year:  Cynthia Keliher, McCarter and English

Small Renovation of the Year:  Carat

Large Renovation of the Year:  Continuum

New Building Project of the Year:  Ken's Food

Legacy Award:  Ken Wexler

Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on increasing and broadening our membership, enhancing our young leader’s programming, providing increased opportunities for community involvement, developing good succession plans for our committees and board of directors and providing excellent programming and opportunities for our members to learn from and network with each other.

The entire Board and I are focused on making this coming year the Chapter’s best year year to date and we all hope that you plan to join us at one of our upcoming programs including our Awards Banquet on November 6.  Have a happy and safe summer!

Regards,

Sarah Abrams
